As I’m sitting here just looking back on my life I realized that I have so many moments in my life that I wish I could just go back and do it all over again. Some moments in particular is telling people how I really feel. It may seem like a small thing to some but for me if I was more honest with the way I felt my life could have been so much different now. Fear is so crippling. Fear holds you back. Fear is your own worst enemy. I was so afraid to tell people how I felt. Because of this fear there were so many missed opportunities. I also think pride had a lot to do with it. When I look back on my life I now see how I let my fear and pride get the better of me. I let fear take over my life and it definitely changed the course of my life. It’s so weird how sometimes we put our lives on hold, we put the way we feel aside or we let the thing in life we want the most slip right through our fingers just because we are afraid that the people around us wouldn’t approve or they would judge. Fear damn you!!!
♥ Sometimes life gets a bit hectic and we need that one thing that can take us to that place where we can put it all behind. I call those our stress relievers or simply hobbies. Find that one that makes you happy; be it a person, a place or just something, once it makes you happy and takes you away from your worries you are on the right path. For me personally, my thing that makes me happy is music. Listening to and singing along to my favorite songs is so therapeutic. It helps me so much when I have to deal with certain things. Music and singing is like my Savior. This is the one thing that makes me truly happy. What do you do to relieve stress in your life? What is that one thing that you love to do? ♥
2012 was a year of some amazing music. I listened to a lot of music this year and was introduced to some awesome new singers and bands this year that I have so many favorite songs this year. Today I am going to just round up my Top 6 songs of this year. This list won’t be in any official order so I hope you enjoy my music selection.
One of my favorite albums this year was ZZ Ward’s “Til the Casket Drops” thank God for Spotify because I got to listen to this album all the time for free. I just love her music so much. Her voice oozes empowerment and it was so refreshing to hear someone with a new type and style of music this year. It was such a good turn from all that pop/dance music on the radio. So here is my favorite song from her album “Put The Gun Down”
This past year also saw the rise of one of my favorite Youtube Cover Artists Tori Kelly. She came out with this awesome 6 song EP “Handmade Song by Tori Kelly”. This was one of my most anticipated albums of the year. When this EP came out I knew I wasn’t going to disappointed. She talent surpasses a lot of successful artists in the industry today. So hope you guys enjoy one of my favs from her EP “Confetti”
Another cool song that I love to sing to at the top of my lungs is Bridgit Mendler “Ready or Not” I love her style of music and her voice is so funky. Here is her debut single “Ready or Not”
I am like a huge Demi Lovato fan so I just had to add this song to one of my favorite of 2012 even though her album came out in 2011. Demi’s song Give Your Heart A Break is my favorite song to jam out to. This song gives me life lol
This next song is probably from one of my new favorite bands. I discovered this song at a time when I was so deeply inspired by this style of music and also looking for something new to listen to. I love the Lumineers and their album was another one of my favs to listen to on Spotify. Here is one of my favorite songs from them “Ho Hey”
This last song is my heart at the moment. The girl who sings this song is a Christian artists who is about to crossover into pop music and I am excited to see how her re release of her album will go. Her album Gold has definitely helped me through a lot this year and made my walk and relationship with God even possible. Listening to her album made me realize that God is super awesome and he is my number one friend, love and comforter all the time. I pick this song of one of my favorites of this year because it is very uplifting and also sends a really good message. I hope you guys listen to this song and enjoy it as much as I do.
This is my favorite songs of 2012. Happy New Year and remember “You are worth more than Gold”
This is one of the songs that I play almost everyday. It amazingly shows how good God is and how no matter what you may be going through in life he is always there walking with you every step of this journey called life. When situations in my life get unbearable I remember Gods love for me and no matter what happens in my life he is just one prayer away. He will never disappoint me, he will never break my heart and he will love me no matter what. Sometimes I take his love for me for granted and I just have to ground myself back to reality and remember that he is the number one person in my life and I should totally be focused on him. It brings so much joy in my heart when I can just sing this song. It reminds me of everything precious in my life and just brings me to a place of peace. This morning I woke up with song playing on TV and my day was really good regardless of everything else that has been going on. I am so happy that this is the song that woke me up. God I love you and thank you so much for your unconditional love.
I absolutely love this quote because it spells out what we as young women should look for in our next boyfriend or husband. A guy should go all out to pursue you and his intentions must be pure of heart. He should be a god fearing Christian man. I’m not saying he should be perfect but in the eyes of The Lord he should be the perfect person for you. We as young girls/women our hearts are so vulnerable. We tend to look at the outside before we get to know the inside. We tend not to trust God and jump into relationships without even praying about it or simply going to god for direction. We also tend to lower our standards and take a lot of the crap that many of the guys dish out. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in these relationships that we forget to love ourselves, love God and just have quality time with ourselves. Also for all you single girls like me we obviously have to guard our hearts and not give into that feeling of loneliness because as soon as we give into that loneliness our perspectives and our judgements become clouded and we tend to make stupid decisions when it comes to affairs of the heart. I live by this bible scripture “Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do.” (NIRV). This scripture is the truth it connects with so much aspects of your life. Your heart may tell you one thing but your head may say another. I always say if your heart and mind aren’t aligned then the decision you are making might not be the right one and you need to talk to God. When trying to form a relationship with a guy or getting to know him you need to go to God, talk to him ask him for wisdom and direction. You need to ask him to strengthen your heart but also open your heart to also get to know this person. You also need to surround your self with wise friends and supporting family members who will have your back no matter what. You need to make sure that this guy isn’t the fool that proverbs talks about. He needs to be the wise man that holds his temper, listens to advice and seeks counsel of other wise men, he needs to honor his mother and father, he must be a peacemaker and learns from his mistakes and receives instructions humbly and he needs to be a god fearing and loving and trustworthy man. Here are some bible verses to just keep close to your heart: Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety. (Proverbs 11:14 ESV) Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. (Proverbs 4:23) “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ESV) For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV) Here’s one of my favorite Christian songs from Britt Nicole called Safe! I thought it would be perfect for this post. Listen to the song and if you like what you hear be sure to check her out on Spotify or buy her album on iTunes.
